Catrina Rhatigan

Project Coordinator

Catrina Rhatigan is a Project Coordinator specializing in Business Continuity for the Crisis Management team. In this role, she is responsible for business continuity plans within the Northwell Health System. Ms. Rhatigan is new to the medical field; however, she brings 20 years of law enforcement and emergency management experience to the team. She was a commanding officer of two Nassau County Police precinct detective squads, 3rd & 6th Precincts, during the Covid-19 Pandemic and played a key role in developing business continuity plans to ensure her detectives, civilians, and supervisors could continue their regular duties and solve crimes in the County.  

Catrina is a Deputy Inspector with the Nassau County Police Department and the Deputy Commanding Officer of the 6th precinct. Her law enforcement career started in 2004 with the New York City Police Department, where she was assigned to Midtown South 14th Precinct – Impact, Crime Conditions team, and the Street narcotics unit. She was then promoted to Police Officer Investigator, Detective track in the Organized Crime Control Bureau - Narcotics unit in the 73rd Precinct in Brooklyn. In 2008, she joined the Nassau County Police Department, where she has been assigned to a slew of assignments, including gang unit, narcotics, county-wide crime, and detective squads.

She is a Ph.D. student at St. John's University working on her Doctor of Professional Studies in Homeland Security & Emergency Management. In addition, for the past 15 years, she has been an adjunct professor of Criminal Justice and Emergency Management at local colleges, including Nassau Community College, John Jay College, and St. Joseph's University. 

Her educational background stems from Nassau Community College, where she earned an A.S. in Criminal Justice; St. Joseph's University, where she earned a B.S. in Sociology and political Science; and from John Jay College, she earned an M.S. in Criminal Justice Leadership & Management. In addition, in 2020, she was selected to attend Police Executive training at the FBI National Academy.
