Our team is proud to take part in a variety of community outreach events throughout the year. These events include career fairs, emergency preparedness education initiatives, and mobile medical deployments.
The Long Island 2022 Fire & EMS Expo, Uniondale NY
At the 2022 Long Island Fire & EMS Expo, Northwell Health’s Crisis Management Incident Response Team (CMIRT) raffled off an iPad to show their appreciation for the first responder community. The lucky winner was John Burnell from the West Babylon Fire Department! Mr. Burnell recently had the opportunity to stop by the CMIRT office to learn more about what we do and the classes we offer. CMIRT looks forward to continuing to give back to the first responder community by hosting a variety of free classes!
Workplace Safety Conference
On Tuesday November 15th, 2022, the Crisis Management Team attended the Workplace Safety Conference at Terrace on the Park which focused on preventable workplace incidents, Northwell’s key safety initiatives, and improvements in safety in both the clinical and nonclinical sectors.
The CMIRT team provided attendees with information about our upcoming courses and raffled off a hurricane preparedness backpack.
The Crisis Management Team ADOPTS-A-FAMILY for the 2022 Holiday Season
This holiday season the Crisis Management Team at Northwell Health participated in the adopt-a-family program with The Retreat.
The Retreat, founded in 1987, is a nonprofit serving both Nassau and Suffolk. “The Retreat’s mission is to provide safety, shelter and support for victims of domestic abuse and to break the cycle of family violence.” To uphold their mission, The Retreat provides counseling services, legal advocacy, case-management services, prevention education, and emergency sheltering for families suffering from violence.
Through our team members generous donations, we were able to fulfill holiday season needs for a father and his two elementary school aged children.
