AWR-335: Response to Suspicious Behaviors and Items for Bombing Prevention
The Response to Suspicious Behaviors and Items for Bombing Prevention Course provides participants with a foundational introduction to recognizing and responding to suspicious behaviors and activities related to terrorist or criminal activities. This course highlights what to do when encountering an unattended or suspicious item and to whom to report it.
AWR-337: IED Explosive Effects and Mitigation Course
The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Explosive Effects and Mitigation Course introduces the effects of an explosive detonation. It details the difference between blast, thermal/incendiary, and fragmentation effects, and describes the consequences on various targets. In addition, participants will learn about security measures and best practices that can help prevent or mitigate explosive effects.
AWR-338: Homemade Explosives (HME) and Precursor Awareness Course
The Homemade Explosives (HME) and Precursor Awareness Course provides foundational knowledge on HME and common precursor materials. Participants will define HME and learn to identify common precursor chemicals and materials used to make HME. In addition, participants will learn how HME is used in an attack.
All students must have a FEMA SID before they can apply for the course. If they need a FEMA SID number, they can register for one at: https://cdp.dhs.gov/FEMASID. Registering for a FEMA SID does not register them for the class. All students must register using the CDP Student Portal web site: http://cdp.dhs.gov/students and entering the Promo Code. The code must be entered exactly the way it appears on the Student Instructions. When a participant registers using the attached promo code, it will simultaneously register them for all (3) classes listed below. Approving a participant into the 25N-1293 HME-P-C class will automatically register them for all three course.
